Former military members of all services are welcome in the Guard |
![]() |
Your prior service is a valuable commodity in the National Guard. Former members of all services find they can use their experiences to become valued members of their guard unit. In many cases you retain your former grade, or, if you've been away from the military for a long time, you can enter at a higher grade than other non prior service enlistees. Contact us using the form below and let us evaluate what grade and position you might qualify for. In a few days we'll evaluate the skills you've had, and make you an offer in the Guard.
Many former military members join the Guard for our retirement program.
Your previous years of service count towards your eventual retirement.
Get twenty qualifying years of service, and you could receive a retirement
payment at age 60 that greatly helps your future. A typical 4-year
active duty veteran, who goes on to achieve a combined active and Guard
20 years of service, can expect as much as a half-million dollars*
in pay and returement benefits over the course of his/her career and retirement.
