Did you know......

Active
duty soldiers can find and join a National Guard unit while still on
active duty, or can join after returning to civilian life. You can
contact a National Guard in-service recruiter and find out about
openings which many Guard units may have.
However, you should also be aware that in-service recruiters may not
know where ALL the Guard job openings are. Many times a Guard unit will
know of an existing soldier that will be leaving soon, and will be able
to fill the slot with someone coming off active duty.
Many times in-service recruiters may be one, two or even three months behind the existing openings of a unit. This is simply a function of the time it takes for an opening to be identified and registered with the in-service recruiting system. So it pays to contact Openings@Armyguard.organd ask about openings forecasted for the time you are scheduled to leave the active force.
Bonuses Available
There are several kinds of bonuses which may be available to you
as a current active duty soldier. A unit affiliation bonus allows you to collect
thousands for signing up. You must be MOS qualified in the position you sign up for.
WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU ON ACTIVE DUTY
One thing they usually don't tell you while you are on active duty is
that many other types of bonuses may be available to you. There may be
a $10000 to $20,000 bonus if you sign up with a unit in need of your
grade and specialty. But if you sign up with an in-service recruiter,
you may miss your chance to get one of these signing bonuses. Bonus eligibility is an ever changing program, so write us with your information and desires, and let us find out what you might be eligible for right now. The best time to contact Armyguard.Org is about 90 to 180 days BEFORE you ETS,
so we can help you find a unit, a bonus, a civilian job, even a place to live!
Interested in AGR?
Many people on active duty ask about jobs with the AGR.
Sometimes they can be found, other times it's tougher. Read our AGR letters section for a sample question and answer about the AGR program.TRY ONE
Aren't sure you want to commit to a long term Guard commitment? One
option many soldiers try is called the "TRY ONE" program. If you are
MOS qualified and sign up for one year, you can try the National Guard
and learn what contributions you can make in a unit near your home. Armyguard.orgcan help put you in the Guard for as little as a one year enlistment. If you like it, you can reenlist and receive a signing bonus after you have
spent a year in the Guard. Decide the Guard is not for you, and you ETS at the end of one year. Give Armyguard.org a chance to find you a unit and an opening at your current grade and MOS. You'll be glad you did.
